2010 Dinner -- updated March 12, 2010 Due to bad weather or a lack of ramps, some dinners have been canceled or had date changes in the past. So please contact them if you are traveling a long distance. Whitetop Mountain Ramp Festival, Whitetop, VA May 16. 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Admission for music and parking: Adults $5, Children under 12 - free. Mount Rogers Volunteer Fire Dept. and Rescue Squad, located on Rt. 58. On the Rooftop of Virginia the Whitetop Mountain Ramp Festival features traditional mountain music played by local musicians, crafts, games, dancing, a RAMP EATING CONTEST ("the Highlight of the Festival") and a BBQ chicken meal served with a side of (what else?) ramps! BBQ chicken dinner includes fried potatoes w/ramps, green beans & rolls. Adults: $6, Children: $3.50. Ice cream, popcorn, hotdogs, BBQ sandwiches & homemade desserts also available.
