  2011 Dinners -- updated April 29, 2011

Due to bad weather or a lack of ramps, some dinners have been canceled or had date changes in the past. So please contact them if you are traveling a long distance.

Middlebourne, WV
April 9. 5:00 p.m. There will be a ramp dinner in Tyler County at the Log Building at the Tyler Co. Fairground, three miles south of Middlebourne. Cost is $10 and is sponsored by the Tyler FFA Chapter. Menu will include: soupbeans, ham, potatoes with and without ramps, ground beef with ramps, ramp salad, dessert, drink, cornbread, green beans, boiled ramp greens, and ramp soup.

Valley Head, WV
April 9. 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. Valley Head Fire Hall. The menu includes ramps, brown beans, fried potatoes, ham, applesauce, cornbread/homemade bread, drink and dessert. The cost is $7.00. All proceeds will benefit Project Up which is the playground upgrade at Valley Head School(Randolph County).

Buckhannon, WV
April 15. 17th Annual Benefit Dinner - Ramps, A Culinary Extravaganza, prepared by 88 Restaurant & Lounge at the Upshur County Public Library. Menu includes: Stir Fried Ramps, Ramp Chowder, Ramp Quiche, Salad w/bacon/ramp Vinaigrette Dressing, Tavern Ham, Red Roasted Potatoes, Corn Bread/Dinner Rolls, Apple Dumplings & Peach-Blueberry Cobbler. 73rd Annual Feast of the Ramson, Richwood, WV

April 30. Last year's info:Noon to 6 p.m. $10. Bruceton-Brandonville VFW and Ladies Auxilary Dinner. $6 for adults, $3 for 5 to 12 and free for 4 and under. Beans with ham, potatoes with and w/o ramps, cornbread/rolls, stewed ramps, raw ramps, coleslaw, applesauce, dessert, tea and coffee. April 30. 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Local food vendors with scrumptious ramp dishes as well as craft and artisan vendors will be setup in town square with ive music all day. April 30. 11:00 a.m. The Ellenboro Wesley Church (located by the Dairy Queen) will have a ramp dinner benefiting the Food Pantry. Adults $10, Children $6.

Helvetia Ramp Dinner, Helvetia, WV
April 30. 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. or when all food is gone. The location is at the Community Hall. The Supper features fried and fresh ramps, beans, ham, fried potatoes, applesauce, cornbread, drink, and dessert. Volunteers will be preparing over 60 bushels of ramps, 300 pounds of ham, 60 pounds of beans, 480 pounds of potatoes, and 200 pounds of cabbage. Helvetia Community products will be available upstairs in the Community Hall. Dance 8:00 - 11:00. The music will be provided by the Helvetia Star Band. April 30. 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mt. Liberty Community Center, Mt. Liberty Community (Barbour County). The cost will be $8 for adults and $4 for children 12 and younger. The menu will include raw and cooked ramps, fried potatoes with and without ramps, ham, brown or white beans, corn bread, applesauce, desserts and drinks. The community building is located between Philippi and Belington off Route 250. Going north from Belington to Philippi, turn left past Faithway Baptist Church. Quick Community Center Ramp Dinner, Pinch, WV
April 30. 11:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. To-Go orders available. Adults - $10.00, Children (12 & under) $5.00. Last year's menu included cooked ramps, ham, fried potatoes, scrambled eggs, cooked cabbage, cornbread, brown beans, desserts and drinks! April 30. 2:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. The Doddridge County Substance Abuse Prevention Coalition will be partnering with The New Milton Union Mission Church to hold a FREE Ramp Dinner. The dinner will be held at the Doddridge County FRN Building. The meal will feature Ramps, Beans, Potatoes, Desserts and Drinks. Colliers, WV
May 1. 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. New dinner in northern panhandle! Olde St John's Episcopal Church at the intersection of St John's Rd and Eldersville Rd. (Rt. 27). This church is said to be the oldest Episcopal church west of the Alleghenies and was founded in 1793. The brick building there now is the third building and was built in 1849. It is an awesome place with a lot of memories and love. Cost $5.00. Menu includes ramps, potatoes with bacon, soup beans, cornbread and a drink. There will be ramp hot dogs and bake sale items available at an additional charge.

May 1. 11:00 a.m. to ? The Reynoldsville and Lost Creek Volunteer Fire Departments will be having a Ramp Dinner, May 1 at the Lost Creek Community Building, Lost Creek, W.V. Mt Grove is on Rt 219 between Oakland, Maryland and Thomas, WV. As you look at a map, find where Maryland's southwestern tip fits into WV. That's about where we are. Watch for the signs. From Redhouse MD, take Rt. 219 south for approximately 8 miles to Mount Grove. From Thomas WV, take Rt. 219 north for approximately 4 miles to Mount Grove.

Rock Cave, WV
May 1. Noon to 3 p.m. Banks District Civic Center. A Fancy Ramp Dinner: Celebrating Spring Tonics. A Benefit for the New Appalachian Farm & Research Center . They are a 501 (c) 3 non profit whose mission is to support the agricultural community’s efforts of building a local food system for West Virginia. $30 per person. For the menu, click here.
