26th Annual Upshur County Public Library Benefit Dinner, Buckhannon, WV
April 23. 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Upshur County Public Library, 1150 Rt. 20 South Rd., Buckhannon, WV 26201.
Come to the Upshur County Public Library's 26th Annual Ramp Dinner, an Appalachian Extravaganza, brought to you by the Upshur County Public Library in partnership with Fish Hawk Acres. Chef Dale Hawkins of Fish Hawk Acres will be preparing the meal. This year is a little different because of COVID-19: instead of a sit down meal in the library, this will be a takeout-only event held at the Tennerton Elementary School in order to facilitate traffic flow.

This is a unique opportunity to sample the following gourmet ramp dishes. If you would like the non-ramp version of the meal, please specify when reserving your ticket, as mixing and matching will not be possible this year.

The menu includes Fish Hawk Acres Signature Baked Ham (no ramps) Stir fried vegetables (with and without ramps), Gourmet mac & cheese (with and without ramps), Potato & ramp soup (and soup without ramps), Garden salad with fresh greens, tomatoes, cucumbers & carrots, served with dill buttermilk dressing, Dinner rolls with butter. Dessert includes both rustic apple pie with real whipped cream and mini ginger molasses cookies.

Tickets are $25 a person and $12.50 for children under 12. All proceeds benefit the Upshur County Public Library. Advance reservations are required and will be accepted through April 17. Prepayment is preferred, or payment via exact change or check at time of pickup. Reservations are accepted in person at the Circulation Desk or by calling the Library at 304-473-4219, extensions 10 or 14, during regular library hours, 9:30 a.m. through 6:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 9:30 a.m. through 5 p.m. on Fridays, and 9:30 a.m. through 2 p.m. on Saturdays. Tickets may also be purchased through EventBrite.

This culinary experience is available only once a year and has been a tradition in Upshur County since 1994. We are excited for this event to return, as with many things, COVID cancelled it last year. We have many wonderful ideas that will hopefully expand our services to Upshur County over the next few years, but need the continued support in return from our community to support our growth.

Harmony for Hope Ramp Dinner, Mount Hope, WV
April 27 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Historic Mount Hope Municipal Stadium on Stadium Dr. Tickets are $8 - $15 and can be purchased at Eventbrite. Support the creation of Harmony's Kids at our first ever bean and ramp dinner. We want to provide opportunities for low-income children who are left out of social activities because they do not fit into the mold of athletic activities. By providing our children with programming which focuses on experiences that are commonly found through traditional Appalachian music and art, we believe we can reach children who are falling through the cracks.
